Someone is plotting to kill Pope.
2.他们的婚礼静悄悄的——只有几个朋友参加。
Their wedding was in low key with attendance of a few friends.
3.这封信是要经理亲自处理的。
This letter requires handling by manager personally.
4.新版《红楼梦》招致很多批评。
New Version of A Dream of Red Mansions has arisen much criticism.
5.自从辞职后，他就如避蛇蝎般地躲着我。
He has hiden from me all the time since his resignment.
6.Man is not the creature of circumstances, but circumstances are the creatures of men.(汉译英)
不是环境造就了人，而是人造就了环境。

第6句的，circumstances是有命运的意思，这里指的是环境吗？不懂，请雅思哥解答
