1. Chunking
As you know Apple makes the best notebooks on the planet, the MacBook, and the MacBook Pro. Today, we’re introducing a third kind of book. It’s called the MacBook Air.
Topic: Tell me about a city you have visited.
“One of the nicest cities I’ve ever visited is the small ancient city of Cambridge. As everyone knows, Cambridge is famous for its university. Founded nearly 800 years ago the university dominates the city with its medieval and gothic-style colleges and buildings.”
One of the nicest cities I’ve ever visited is the small ancient city of Cambridge.
2. Sentence Stress
I said she might consider a new car. It was my idea.
I SAID she might consider a new car. Don’t you understand me?
I said SHE might consider a new car. Not another person.
I said she MIGHT consider a new car. It’s a possibility.
I said she might CONSIDER a new car. She should think about it. It’s a good idea.
I said she might consider a NEW car. Not just any car.
I said she might consider a new CAR. Not something else.
