用作强调的嵌套定语结构及简化

下面的段落含有一个“蹩脚”的指代结构：
   It so happened that (*probably) they ......   (这是一小段描述：片段)
    The adverb probably cannot be added to the complement in the intended reading, which is the one in which it has scope over the Episode as a whole.

说明：It so happened that.... 这段是一段文字示例。后面一句是对该示例的评论讲解，指出probabaly修饰的不妥。
其中，the complement ----指示例的that从句
      第1个which ----指the complement；
      the one ----替代the complement；
      in which ----表示in the complement ；
      it的先行词 ----是the one。
为什么作者要构造这么一个貌似游戏的指代结构呢？
我自己的理解是，which is the one是一种过渡处理，为了强调：这么样的补语。
                哪样呢？其后通过一个in which从句深入说明。
这里the one靠近it，而且，第一个which与the one逻辑同位，用it指代the one合情合法。

先comment这么多吧

      用happen，能引出一个片段，展开某事件进展的细节，作为文章要提供的事实和证据。按照英文习惯，既然是提供证据，就不能随便用probably这类评价真实程度的修饰语。也就是说，happen已指明事件是真实的，与probably自相矛盾。在逻辑结构上英语比汉语要严谨(当然英语也shaky，有个德国朋友这么说过)，汉语容许这类自相矛盾并不能成为英语写作的证据。
      如果把I so happened换成I beleive类，那么跟在其后的that从句属于命题(或建议)类，这时再用probably修饰就是妥当的啦。

改造一下1楼的句子。例如，[a complement]替代[which is the one]，看看顺眼否：
    The adverb probably cannot be added to the complement in the intended reading, a complement in which it has scope over the Episode as a whole.
不过，改造后的句子的强调力度不如原来。

那么，我再补充两点。
1 前述写作手法问题，很多都是“不伦不类的”。
  单靠砖家总结后，您再去读他写的书，实在是太累了，要学白了头。
  关键是靠自己平日多琢磨、总结。
2 probablly是一个分级副词，修饰子句或词组，不用做动词修饰。
近义词possibly是probablly的近义么？
首先，它不属于这个级内的词；其次，它能用在动词前，强调时间发生的可能性。
