The idea of going overseas for university study is an exciting prospect for many people. But while it may offer some advantages, it is probably better to stay home because of the difficulties a student inevitably encounters living and studying in a different culture. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?[/size
]As the global economy developed in the world, more and more parents in China choose to let their children go out of the country to receive education in order to expand their horizon. But some factors do need to be considered before they make the decision. As far as I am concerned, I think we should better stay at home when it compares to go abroad.
There’s no denying that go to overseas is a good idea. On the one hand, the western countries have a more flexible education system that will provide us good quality of education. On the other hand, we can become more independent and that can absolutely helps us to in the rest of our lives.
However, the advantages for staying at home do outweigh the disadvantages. The tuition for study abroad is high . Sometimes it is hard to be afforded by our families. Also, it is unsafe for us to go far away from home without the help of our parents. For example, the USA is an ideal place for many students to study. But because of some political factors related to the USA , we may meet terrorists or other attacks even when we are walking inside the campus.
Apart from all these, our parents will worry about if we can eat full or get along well with people who comes from different areas of the world. For the students , they may face language barriers and cannot adapt for the western life. What is more, they may lack the understanding of western culture. Many excellent students may choose not concentrate on their studies anymore. That’s so pity.
Above all, going abroad is a big decision for every student and every family. We cannot risk it. So for most of the families, I would like to advise them to stay at home instead of going abroad.
