Amanda:Hi,David.I hear you moved out of your parents' house a few weeks ago.How is it?
David:Well,it's quite difficult finding the time to do all the housework.
A:Why?What did you do before?
D:I lived with my parents and my mother usually cooked and did the shopping.At the weekends
though,I used to cook sometimes,but only if I had time.
A:Yes,but now you've got more freedom that before,haven't you?
D:What do you mean?
A:Well,you can go out and come back anytime,and friends can come and visit or you can have a
party anytime,can't you?
D:Well,maybe.But now I share with two other flatmates.
A:What do they do?
D:They're also students.
A:So,no problem.They'd probably like to meet your friends and enjoy parties.That's why I like to
live away from my parents.You can meet more people and can make more friends.
D:Yes,that's true,Amanda.But there is so much housework and things to pay for.TV licence,gas
and electricity bills,and the house rent.
A:Yes,but it's good experience...practice for when you get married one day.
D:Urm.Maybe.So you really like living alone?
A:I did.
D:What do you mean,you "did"?
A:Well,now I'm living with my parents again.
D:Why's that?
A:I had to move because I hated cooking for myself,and I had no more money.
獨居生活
亞曼達：嗨，大衛，我聽說你幾個禮拜錢搬出父母家了，新生活如何啊？
大衛：嗯，要找到時間做完全部的家事實在很困難。
亞曼達：怎麼說？你以前都怎麼做的？
大衛：我以前和爸媽一起住，通常是我媽負責煮飯和買東西，雖然周末我有時也會煮飯，不
過只有在我有空的時候。
亞曼達：是啊，但是現在你比以前自由多了，不是嗎》
大衛：什麼意思?
亞曼達：嗯，你可以在任何時間出門、回家，朋友可以來找你玩，或者可以隨時舉辦派對，
不是嗎？
大衛：呃，也許吧，但是現在我和兩個室友一起住。
亞曼達：他們是做什麼的？
大衛：也是學生。
亞曼達：所以就沒問題啦，他們可能也會想要認識你的朋友，快樂的參加派對啊。這就是為
什麼我喜歡離開父母自己住，你可以認識更多人，交到更多朋友。
大衛：是啊，你說的沒錯，亞曼達。但是有好多家事要做，還有好多錢要付，電視執照費，
瓦斯費，電費，還有房租。
亞曼達：是啊，但這是個好的經驗.....為你哪一天要結婚先做練習准備。
大衛：呃，可能吧。所以你真的很喜歡自己一個人住？
亞曼達：以前是。
大衛：“以前”是什麼意思？
亞曼達：哎，現在我又和父母住在一起了。
大衛：怎麼會這樣？
亞曼達：我必須搬回家，因為我討厭自己做飯，而且我也沒錢了。
