i failed to ditch the young man off, who had boring me all the time in the party.
there is no intention for the goverment to solve the unemployment issue.
the water had been already boiled off.
that was what you had done.

水烧干了这一句，楼主给出的参考是 The water boiled away.
boiled away或是boiled off 哪个搭配更准确先不讨论，刚刚和一个美国朋友讨论了一下应该是用主动还是被动的问题，说了半天也是晕晕呼呼，美国朋友给出的和楼主的参考一样，不用被动，他说在美国最常见的说法是
all the water evaporated from the boiling kettle,或者all the water had evaporated.
不过我还是觉得水不可以自己boil,我google了一下，发现也有很多例句是water had been boiled.....
大家讨论一下，看看怎么表达更好
